Lead Software Engineer (React / TypeScript) Contract to Hire Hybrid in Los Angeles

Optomi, in partnership with one of the largest entertainment companies in the world, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help build and evolve core user experiences for streaming platforms. This role sits within an eCommerce team focused on building seamless sign-up, purchase, and subscription management flows that power billions of user interactions. Youll serve as a hands-on technical leader, architecting scalable and accessible applications in React and TypeScript while mentoring engineers and shaping best practices across the team.

Experience of the right candidate:

• BS in Computer Science or STEM subject
• 7+ years building and scaling performant web applications serving millions of users
• Proven ability to ship production-level React/Node.js apps with high availability on AWS
• Experience with test-driven development, CI/CD practices, and production-grade deployment

Preferred qualifications:

• Deep understanding of web accessibility fundamentals and standards
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and performance tuning

Were putting a high emphasis on:

• Leading React UI development and shaping the platforms web architecture
• Mentoring and collaborating with engineers to elevate technical execution
• Improving developer experience through tooling, documentation, and scalable design systems
