Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various aspects of legal work, including research, document preparation, and case management. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice and will involve collaboration with both clients and legal professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by organizing case files and documentation.
• Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to gather relevant information for cases.
• Manage and maintain document management systems, ensuring all files are organized and easily accessible.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence under the supervision of attorneys.
• Support project management tasks related to litigation processes, including tracking deadlines and case progress.
• Coordinate communication with clients regarding case updates and necessary documentation.
• Assist in immigration law matters by preparing applications and supporting documents as required.
• Collaborate with team members on patent law cases, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree or paralegal certification preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Strong understanding of law principles, particularly in areas such as immigration law and patent law.
• Proficiency in using document management systems like iManage to organize case files efficiently.
• Familiarity with project management techniques to effectively manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Excellent research skills utilizing Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, or similar legal research databases.
• Strong administrative skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated to complete tasks independently.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
