Whitman Intern Grant (WIG) Eligible Triple Point Internship

Agency: Akin

Program: Triple Point Walla Walla

Location: 1612 Penny Lane, Walla Walla

Supervisor: Cedar Green, Program Specialist for Triple Point Walla Walla

Program Description:

Akin’s Triple Point program provides weekly support groups in Walla Walla, Washington for 2SLGTBQ+ middle and high school students (and supportive friends) ages 13-18 and is the only program of this type in the region. Youth come from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

Triple Point’s weekly support groups and seasonal events are facilitated by an employee and volunteer or intern. Group rules and norms are developed organically through these interactions and have resulted in a safe harassment-free space essential for the program’s success.
