Job Title: Paint Prepper
Job Description

As a Paint Prepper, you will be responsible for wiping, sanding, and inspecting all parts, including preparation for paint repair and priming. You will plug and mask parts, ensuring proper paint adhesion, and operate an overhead hoist for hanging parts. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures and 6S standards is crucial. You will inspect completed parts for quality and validate components meet production and quality standards. Additionally, you will assist in driving back defects to the point of origin and facilitate corrective actions. Managing inventory levels by identifying, labeling, stocking, and recording materials and supplies is also part of the role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating forklift and tugger equipment.
• 6+ months of paint prep or entry-level painting experience in auto-body or commercial industries.
• Interest in moving into a painting role long term.

Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package and a shift differential of $1.75 for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Full-time employees are eligible for a sign-on bonus of $1,500, with $500 paid at 3 months and another $500 at 6 months. Contractors become eligible upon conversion.

Work Environment

Work takes place inside paint booths with a strong paint odor and a hot environment. Painters wear a full paint suit and respirator, requiring candidates to be clean-shaven for proper respirator fit. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toe shoes, and a clean work shirt. Shifts available are 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm and 3rd shift from 11pm to 7am. The current workforce in the weld department is 300 employees, aiming for 400 to be fully staffed. The culture encourages working both independently and collaboratively.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mc Connellsburg, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37960.00 - $44512.00/yr.

$500 @ 3 months of employment
$500 @ 6 months of employment
$500 @ 12 months of employment
