Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for a Medical Technologist I to join our Clinical Pathology dedicated to Early Development Animal Research studies team in Greenfield, IN. Daytime hours and no weekends!

The Medical Technologist performs established procedures for non-clinical testing as required in all assigned laboratory disciplines and is responsible for analyzing specimens whose results are then reported to the pharmaceutical company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but not limited to performing established procedures for non-clinical testing as required in all assigned laboratory disciplines. Responsible for analyzing animal specimens in conjunction with early development drug studies
Perform parallel testing, reagent validation, linearitys, and stability studies.
Document and resolve any specimen discrepancies. Notify laboratory management when specimen discrepancies are not resolved.
Evaluates and solves problems related to the collection and processing of specimens.
Ensure the validity of test results through the performance of established quality control procedures. Interpret quality control results according to established departmental procedures.
Resolve routine and non-routine assay problems.
Prepare workstation and instrumentation for the assigned testing
Operate instruments to perform testing in accordance with established written procedures.
Receive, open and place in service all reagents according to SOPs.
Prepare and properly label reagents and document according to SOPs.
Process and ship samples according to study specific instructions.
Perform maintenance on instruments and equipment daily, weekly, monthly, and document.

Education/Experience/Qualifications
Bachelors degree and completion of at least 12-month training program in Medical Technology OR Bachelors degree in a chemistry, biology or related science field AND on year training and/or experience working in hospital or similar laboratory performing clinical laboratory testing.
Highly prefer candidate with 1+ years of experience working in hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
