The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYCDOHMH), Public Health Laboratory is seeking to hire two qualified Laboratory Project Coordinators. The mission of the Public Health Laboratory is to safeguard the health all New York City residents by providing quality laboratory testing services that address the needs of the NYC DOHMH and its community partners to prevent and respond to food, clinical and environmental public health concerns. Duties Will Include But Not Be Limited To Perform queries and reports using electronic databases and laboratory systems to generate data to support emerging pathogens (such as COVID-19 and Mpox) and other public health laboratory testing. Evaluate laboratory data through data cleaning, assembling datasets, and analysis of laboratory test results to inform purchasing of testing supplies and equipment. Conduct data analyses using Excel/Access/SAS/SPSS. Participate in ongoing research investigations/grant/special projects at the NYC PHL related to emerging pathogens. Assist in operations projects including but not limited equipment and supply inventory, resource requests, and specimen management. Serve as a liaison between PHL leadership, testing supervisors and other DOHMH bureaus. Preferred Skills Excellent writing and communication skills. Data analysis skills.
