The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and electrical estimating, with the ability to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule, while also maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather relevant data for accurate pricing.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best possible pricing.
• Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for efficient estimating processes.
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for accurate estimates.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• Stay updated on industry trends, codes (including NEC), and best practices in construction estimating.

Skills

• Strong negotiation skills to effectively manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in construction management principles and practices.
• Knowledge of cost control techniques to ensure project profitability.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and components relevant to estimating electrical projects.
• Experience using estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for precise cost estimation.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
