The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2716 N Tenaya Way Las Vegas, NV 89128.

We offer on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Answer incoming phone calls from health care providers (i.e. physician offices, clinics) and identify the type of assistance the provider needs (EG. benefit and eligibility, billing and payments, authorizations for treatment, explanation of benefits)
  • Focus on resolving issues on the first call, navigating through complex computer systems to identify the status of the issue and provide appropriate response to caller
  • Schedule appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience with computers and Windows based programs including Microsoft Word (Create, view, Edit) Microsoft Excel (View, sort, filter), Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a health care setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance programs and basic managed care principals such as referrals and prior authorization
  • Bilingual Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Call Center experience
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Communication skills and phone etiquette

The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
