Job Description Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Tutor/Mentor for TRIO Upward Bound. The Tutor/Mentor will work closely with TRIO Upward Bound students to ensure successful matriculation through high school, and entry and completion of postsecondary educational programs.

Core Responsibilities: - Provide academic tutoring to students.
- Data collection, entry, and analysis of student progress and outcomes.
- Prepare and submit tutoring/student contact reports.
- Serve as mentor to students in grades nine through twelve.
- Work closely with the Associate Director and Student Development Coordinator on various aspects of the mentoring component.
- Support the execution of parental workshops designed to support student success.
- Assist with the execution of student-related activities and events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - 60+ college credit hours completed required.
- One year experience working with minors, preferably high school-aged children.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing tasks.
- The TRIO Upward Bound faculty and staff work with children. All employees must be able to pass a Nevada State and Clark County School District background check.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Overcome similar barriers to the target population.
- English/Spanish bilingual.
Work Hours: This position will work 15 - 19.5 hours per week.
Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour.
